BTW, Brenspeed's tunes completely eliminated the throttle delay you mentioned!
Yeah. My 2008 GT has 4.10's, Brenspeed tune and some suspension stuff. I really enjoyed it. 4.10's make it feel EVIL.

I laugh my *** off every time someone says it's only a 6. My neighbor HAD a 2008 GT vert until he rode in my 12 6vert. He now has a 12 California vert. It just killed him that my 6 was as fast as his 08 GT. Just today I was on Cross Bay Blvd in Queens NY when a mid 2000's 8 cylinder Stang with some either cat back or axial back mufflers pulls up next to me, my top was down of course, and he asks if it is a 6 and I said yup, wana run? I guess he's so embarrassed that I beat him he had no smart response when we pulled up to the next light and asked if he wanted a second shot at my 6 with a slush box, he said "that is 100% stock? I just smiled and said yes, have a great day.

My advice to you that have the 6 is just enjoy the car, if you want do mods go right ahead, but don't for a second think that you are driving a slug. You will beat a crap load of V8's that THINK they are quick. They are nothing more than legends in their own minds ;-)

Some people care about more than just speed, i'd never trade my '05 in for a newer v6. Not knocking the new sixxers, they're beasts but I prefer the original S197 styling plus you just can't beat the sound of a v8 'Stang. Being that my GT has practically full bolt ons (more is done than what's in sig) plus 4.10s, it's plenty fast for me...for now.

They're such similar cars that it would be a poor idea to go from a 05-09 GT to a 11+ V6. Keep enjoying the GT.

I can understand the stigma with the old 4.0L V6. I look at those with disdain. But, as an owner of 4.6L GT, I think the new 3.7 V6s are bad ***. I have total respect for those and don't think for a second that they are "slow". In fact, I think they should be considered a different species of Mustang, one that's probably better suited for track performance due to its weight distribution.

I may start looking for a new Mustang for 2014 and I am seriously considering a V6 with the Performance Package. Power I don't feel will be an issue but exhaust sound might be. However, the clips I've heard of the V6 with a Borla Attak mufflers sound pretty dang cool so I might be okay with that.

My buddy has a 2011 Camaro V-6 he always says how his camaro was good....until I got into my 2012 mustang 6 and showed him yes my 6 is fast toooooooo!!!!. Another dude flat out asked me " Why did you waste your money on a 6?" I told him.."Cause you don't know what you think you know!".
Need less to say i showed him what was up when i left a tire stripe in the motorpool parking lot on my way home.

You hit the nail on the head - it's totally different, and with the Performance Package it REALLY handles and stops well too. Great car so far!

any one else have this happen yet?

And yes I've owned 2 3.8 stangs (98/00)
Just reply "305 HP"... and leave it at that.
