slow six stigma

slow six stigma
Let me start off by saying thus far (almost 800miles on the clock) I truely enjoy my 3.7. With that being said I know I can't be the only 3.7 owner that suffers the slow six issue the awsome rep the 3.8 and 4.0 had as performers leaves the 3.7 with that slow stigma.....by that I meen going some were and having someone ask " hey that got a v8?" And of course when you so no its a 305 hp v6....they just seem to look down on the car. And get the inevitable "oh well it looks nice"
any one else have this happen yet?
And yes I've owned 2 3.8 stangs (98/00)

isn't it funny how they don't **** on the GT owners and say "well, it's not a Boss/Shelby.. blah blah ..."
there's always bigger and badder out there. 30+ mpg and 300+ hp - I say you have more then enough of both worlds and made an excellent choice.
screw what anyone thinks. I've seen this in every car community I've been a part of.
Oh, it's just a WRX .. not an STi
Oh .. just a camaro v6, not an SS
oh.. it's just a DE 350z.. not an HR/nismo
it will never end.

A friend has a 2010 V-8 convertible with 305 hp. She seemed disappointed when I told her my new V-6 has 305 hp and with the few tweeks I made probably is up to 310 hp. The new V-6 seems to **** off V-8 owners with the same hp.
I have more fun in my V-6 than in the 2009 Challenger R/T I had with the 370 hp Hemi engine.

Ya know, Im still that a$$hole that looks down on v6s, lol. If Im out looking for a run, I'll see a NE mustang, then say "hell its just a v6". New camaro.. "aw man damn 6er". Lol. All the while Im riding around in a damn v6!!!
I used to tuck my tail when saying I had a v6. Its a lot easier talking to performance-oriented folks, cause you can talk numbers and they understand and respect what the car can do. Any other joe-shmo just says "oh, well, looks great!".
You want to get peoples attention, take it to the track. People really get to talking when they see how these cars run, and figure out its a v6
For instance, listen to the first 2 runs in this vid."That v6 is running!" "IS THAT A V6?!" "Yo That v6 is siiiiiick" Lol, I love it! Ive been asked if it was a rebadged v8, if I was spraying, if it was the ecoboost v6, etc. I just smile and shake my head.

Edit: This is also why my license plate is so perfect. "FOOLN YA" first glance it looks like a gt, fooled ya once. Then you think its slow cause its missing 2 cylinders... fooled ya twice

Well, the previous V6's were dreadfully slow. I didn't really consider them Mustangs at all. They were just so miserable. The 2011 was shockingly....good. I took a test drive not expecting much and ended up buying it. It's so similar to the 2008 GT I had to sell when I went overseas. I like all the power being up top, makes it easier to drive in the rain and it sounds fantastic.
I'm a jerk. I look down on most other V6 Mustangs. They were so stripped most the time, terribly slow, and the MPG benefit, well, didn't exist.

ATL is a car town, but mostly show, and not much knowledge of the Go. The only person I've had ask me about it at all was an old guy in a red vert v8 05-09 mustang who said it looked great and asked if it was the V8. I broke the 'no' answer to him and said 'just dual exhaust' - cranked it up for him to hear - he said and I quote 'I'm going to trade this thing in this weekend for that V6'.
Otherwise, not really caring if someone's hatin' (Gives me insight to their psyche). I don't mind being slower than someone - the driver mod ALWAYS makes the biggest difference.. I doubt any 5.0 owners outside enthusiasts like us here, ever even play with their car like it can do.
