Advice for upgrades apprecited!!
#11
Just got the exhaust done today, and all I can say is "WOW"! I used a local shop and they did a great job. I was intending to buy an axleback system from AM for around $500 and install it myself, but for only $216 they fabricated their own design (they did use a small piece of pipe from each original muffler so it could still be just clamped on and not welded, per my request, in case I wanted to change it later), and installed it beautifully using magnaflow stainless tips to finish it off. I wasn't sure how the wife would like it without mufflers, but she loves it. With her driving style it remains fairly mild, and once up to speed and just maintaining, it is barely louder than stock. I took it out after we got home for a solo drive, and let it rip through first and second, and holy @#$% what a sound. It has a nice, rich burble on decel, and a little race car-like popping when you downshift. I couldn't be any happier, and it is nice to know that if we get tired of it, we can still order a more mild set-up and clamp it on without any cutting or welding. Now, I can't wait for our order to get here from AM. We have the Airaid cai, and a bunch of cosmetic goodies that are sure to make it go faster, LOL. I'm having more fun dressing this thing up than I did with my Harley! I'm just not sure how much longer this is going to "her" car......
