I have a 2012 V6 with the performance package (3.31 gears, 19' wheels). Got a CAI installed and a 89 octane performance tune from Bama. My MPG meter usually hangs aroung 21 mpg. I do have a tendency to drive the car hard (cruise at 80 on the highway, like to hit the gas when I have room). Also I should state that the MPG meter runs 1 or 2 miles lower than when I manually calculate (miles driven/gallons pumped in) the MPG

45mph in 6th is a bit slow. I generally don't go into 6th until I'm over 50 mph with 55 or 60 being better.

6th gear really helps gas mileage but between 50 and 60 in 6th, the engine doesn't sound happy. My driving includes a lot of country highways over rolling or flat terrain with a 55mph limit, so generally I'll let it roll along in 6th. Gas mileage (on the graph, anyway) is over 30 when I do that.

However a below-50 mph slowpoke, passing or a serious grade will require a downshift to 5th.
