At 59 I suspect that I am older than most of you that have replied to this post. Back in the 60's, car manufacturer's recommended trying different brands of gasoline to see which would give better mileage to your car. I never hear of this anymore, but I suspect that it is still true. I seem to get about 2 m.p.g. more with one certain brand than I do with all the others I have tried.
I also have heard no mention of anyone using ethanol free gasoline in their cars to see if it would improve their mileage or not. My car is a stock 2012 with 37,000 miles on it. I recently filled up with the ethanol free (additional 10 cents per gallon) before making a 115 mile trip. The drive was all 2 lane, with only about 10% city driving. The car computer showed a 32.4 m.p.g. average for this trip. I am very happy with that. The last car that I owned that would get 32 m.p.g. was a 1964 Volkswagen Bug, with a 40 horsepower engine! Car manufacturer's sure have come a long way since then.

Looks like it might be easier to find in my area than yours. I used the 87 octane.

I get about 2 MPG more running Ethanol free gas, but I have to change the tune to do it so I use the up to 10% premium. As for me the price is lower since it is from our fuel stop, but it is only one station so I stick to my 91P tune.

I just got 30 mpg heading north at 70-80 mph for 50 miles, in traffic heavy enough that I couldn't maintain a constant speed, with the air con on, and 28 mpg on the way back with the cruise control set at 70, air con off. Outside temps were in the mid 80's on the way up and 70 on the way back. Seems my pony likes it warm.
