Hmmm, so does that mean I don`t have to get an aftermarket DS if I power up my pony?

Check the build date on the driver side door jamb.

Can you guys clarify? Because I'm seing two conflicting statements/terminology.

A "two piece" driveshaft means it is two short seperated shafts connecting in the middle with a carrier bearing and a cv joint. The carrier bearing is bolted to the frame and therefore the shafts are not in a straight line, the one aft of the carrier is the only one that pivots down to the rear diff.

The stock ds in my car is the original, LONG "telescoping" driveshaft. The big diameter steel one with a rubber boot in the middle. It is one straight shaft from the tail of the tranny to the nose of the diff. It's long length and stamped part in the middle is what causes the failures at high speed.

Are you guys positive that v6s are now coming with "two piece" driveshafts? Or are they just an updated version of the problematic "telescoping" shaft?

Remember, that the pictures in the parts guys computer at ford may just be pics of the V8 cars which have always had "two piece" driveshafts from 2011 forward.

The parts guy brought up the 2013 V6 automatic - and it showed a one piece shaft, no center carrier bearing. And looking under my car I don't have the center carrier bearing and as far as I can remember right now, the rubber "accordion" boot section was on the end just like my Shaftmasters was on the 2006.

Then he brought up the 2011-12 (and early build 2013) and it showed what you described, the two piece shaft with center carrier bearing that is bolted to the tunnel.

Look at the pictures in this thread https://mustangforums.com/forum/v6-s...ap-tested.html
The Pictures are a 2011 V6 drive shaft, which happens to be what looks the same as what is in my 06/2012 built V6, 2 piece drive shaft, center spline, right where it breaks at 135 MPH.

This is from another site and shows the two piece, center carrier bearing. And now that I see the picture you posted, I remember that the "accordion" is in the center of mine as well. This picture is what someone else posted up as the 2011-12 driveshaft.

You will notice on my last post the -C was being installed on our V-6's starting 12/04/12.
When I bring my, made June 18, 2012 2013 MCA with PP, in for a oil change I will take pictures and post. Also I will ask to see [at the dealership]the latest [made after 12/04/12] mustang driveline.

Mine has the rubber boot ("accordion") in the middle, and no center bearing. It looks like the upper one in the thread Siber Express referred to earlier, relinked below:
