Default 3.7 perf parts???

Hi all,
I have a few questions that maybe someone can answer.

1.Are the 3.7's factory HP just about maxed out in naturally aspirated form?
2.Are there any new performance products coming down the pike?
3.Why Ford seems to have abandoned 3.7 owners?

Thanks

1. It depends on what you consider maxed out. There are quite a few things you can do to easily get 15-25hp more. However, are you more interested in hp or going faster? Gears don't add power but do make you go faster.

2. There seems to be building interest now that there a number of 3.7 owners, and not just on the mustang platform.

3. Can you be more specific? I don't feel abandoned.

I understand all about adding 15 or 20 HP or adding a Pro-Charger supercharger.
What I mean is...1 supercharger a few CAI's,1 throttle-body company (BBK I believe),only long tube headers..why not a Roots type charger or Performance intake manifold (like Ford makes for 4.6 V8's),shorty headers,I mean I can't be the only one who thinks we are low on performance parts.

There is a single and a twin Hellion turbo coming. As for short pipes, I believe they won't do much for this motor (so I've heard). American Racing and BBK both make LT headers. I think there is a third company but can't remember the name. Yes there is only one TB so far, but at least two manifold prototypes being worked on.

Not too sure on the roots blower. I've only heard speculation, nothing fully credible.

If that's your goal, I would just start collecting all the supporting mods. The forced induction option might become available by then.

The problem with the roots type blower unfortunately is the narrow valley between the heads. It is going to be difficult to get an intercooler and blower in between the heads and the injectors. Plus, it will be pretty tall so the blower may not fit under the strut brace or the hood even.
