Default Upgrading my brakes. Are GT brakes better?

Quick question - are GT front brakes better than our V6 ones? I did search but only see posts for pre '11 conversions. I have a chance to get GT (off a '13 CS) rotors and calipers for $100. Worth it or pass?

Thanks,
Matthew

From Ford Media:
The front rotors on a '13 Gt are 336mm(13.2") x 36mm, and the ones on the '11 V6 are 316 (12.4") x 30-mm. Worth it? Dunno, maybe stickier tires would net you better results overall(wait 'till you need new ones, or big splurge on summer only set!). You will also be shifting more of your braking force to the front than it is already, if you don't do something with the rear as well.
One more thing, ask your dealer if you will void your warrany, if you are still covered, if you switch to GT rotors.

I have them and believe they are a modest upgrade. I bought them on a whim when I was going to routinely replace my brakes anyway. Just food for thought, the standard v6 brakes are basically the old gt brakes. They 5.0 and 3.7 share the same rear brakes.

I get better initial bite than with the stock brakes, but doubt I stop any shorter. I upgraded to 19" wheels so the larger rotors fill out the wheels better.

Thanks. I ended up passing on them and am looking for something better. I saw them for $100 and thought "what the hell" but didnt end up getting them anyway.

Who know how long Roush will continue to offer them. You could buy them now and hold on to them until your OEM pads wear out.

Im going to get AMR '19s in the future so bigger brakes would be better. Maybe some GT500 take offs if I can find them for cheap.

GT calipers are all the same as V6 calipers..... just the rotor diameters are different. 12.4" Vs 13.2".

I bought a pair of takeoff GT rotors from Roush's EBay auction as well. I paid $50 SHIPPED.

I haven't had the time to put them on but bigger is ALWAYS better when it comes to brake area.

You really just need the bigger brackets to go with the larger rotors, but since Roush sells it all packaged together I guess it's easier to buy them that way.

That's right, you will need the new bracket because your caliper won't clear the bigger rotor.

Roush's EBay auctions don't include the brackets. You'll need to buy them separately.
