What I'm trying to say is that from the engine to the tips there is no other difference in the exhaust besides just the tips.

Yeah, that's what I thought. The question is, why are the tips different? It's not going to change anything in the exhaust to do that. They just want the MT to look more aggressive? I doubt few (outside of here) take note of this.

What is your source for this information?

My eyeballs. I've visually seen the difference in both automatics and manuals from the headers to the exhaust tips. I've personally replaced my entire exhaust and have inspected it all and also made comparisons to other owner parts int he forums for validation. If you don't believe me, go check other forums.....you'll get the same answer.

So it is possible that the mufflers are different internally?

Hers some fuel to the fire. My wife's 13 stang v6 auto has the same tips as my 07 Gt which has Corsa exhaust. The manual tips look like my Flow Master system on my 04 Gt. Maybe ford out sources from these companies and the factory installs whatever is in house at the time of build. Underneath inspection confirms this.

Smile Stock variations

There is a performance package for the exhaust. Either the quiet 2.25 which usually has the tips with the inner ring and a I believe a H-Pipe. The Ford Performance upgrade came with a 2.5 inch plumbing with a more aggressive X-Pipe and GT axle backs which can be seen with the larger GT tips. There was a huge difference in sound, the 2.25 very quiet, the 2.5 louder with the fairly significant exhaust pops on deceleration. Very close to Magnaflow axle backs. Approx 15-25 more horsepower gain as well. This type of system sounds mean with Flowmaster 40's. Many won't know it's a V6. Check out this youtube:
for comparison.

People bring up 2 year old threads with the wrong info.
There are 2 different mufflers on the V6, one for the Automatic and one for the Manual. All the rest of the exhaust from one to the other is the same for that model year going from 2011-14.
