Default Oil catch can on v6?

OK, I've searched and have not found this discussed... is an (passenger side) oil catch can worth putting on a stock 3.7? Currently my '13 has just under 6k miles so not many yet (if that matters).
Any thoughts? Is it worth the 120 bucks?

Yes. I assume it's similar to the 4.0 v6. It reduces gunk in the throttle body and improves octane levels.

I have one on my 2013 and it catches a lot. Same with my 2006 and the Xcharger - although not quite as much without forced induction (yet).

Passenger side is where you want it. That is where the PCV is and where you get the blow by. Driver side it isn't needed.

the catch cans work but you still get the oil in the intake manifold.when that happens it hurts your performance and causes you to get carbon deposits on the valves.I had made my own breather kit for mine and eliminated the problem completely.if you look on my profile you can see the kit I made.it's easy and only costs around $30.00

We compared two 3.7s that ran one (mine) for about 55,000 out of 65,000 miles against one that did not have one with about 30,000 miles. Mine actually looked better with less oil on the manifolds. The thread and photos are in another forum.

OK, wow. I just went out and pulled the PVC hose off the intake. There was a lot of oil there. I know my next purchase - my car and my wife's. Thanks everyone.

I think because the oil is so thin it's easier for the oil to get up there. Btw be prepared for it to be stinky when you empty the can lol.

Thanks. BTW, what do y'all do with this teaspoon of oil when you empty the can? (Be honest, there's no one here but us.)

I have a storage canister for oils and such and when it gets full take it to O'Reilly's to dump it.

I have a oil catch can on my V-6 and it works pretty good. Like JimC I have a oil pan I dump the captured oil into so I can take it to AutoZone for disposal.
