Default What order for mods?

If you had it to do over, list the order you would apply your mods. If you haven't done any mods yet, what order do you plan to go with? I asked this question to the "Mustang guy" at my dealer and he said for sure start with an intake and go from there.

This is how I was thinking before talking to the service tech:

1. exhaust (it just deserves a better voice, although it sounds just fine inside the car)

2. driveshaft

3. hood (at the moment either BMC Black Mamba II or Trufiber Venom)

4. intake (either JLT or Airaid)

5. tune (Bama custom no doubt)

6. headers, TB and midpipe (and updated tunes)

I would (and did) start with the cold air intake/bama tuner. After that it's kind of what you are after most...sound or being faster/quicker. Gears would be the next choice if you were after performance and wanted the best bang for the buck in my opinion.

That's a pretty good order! I went with:

1. Axle Back

2. Cold Air Intake & Tuner

3. Long Tube's/X-Pipe

4. Boss Manifold/Throttle Body

5. Lowering Springs/Control Arms/Pan Hard Bar

6. Driveshaft

7. Cowl hood/Tint

This is the approach I took! I have no complaints and wouldn't change a thing.

Hope this helps!

The exhuast axle backs is simply for sound, not real performance or atleast not significant IMO

The intake may be more hype than actual improvement as well...butt dyno noticed no change and mpg didn't change either and only slightly more intake noise when "on it"

The Bama tunes was well worth it, the driveshaft was well worth it, if you have oe 2.88? gearing of a non PP car, then 3:31 is a great step and I still get 30+ mpg, or you could go further to 3:55 or further yet if you really want to accelerate, short throw shifter was nice-but I would go more than 20% if you really want a big change....I will sometime soon change to one that is around 40% shorter than oe

Anything else you desire for cosmetics or sound is certainly by your preference

My order was as follows....
1. cold air
2. Steeda springs and an adjustable panhard bar
3. Hurst Shifter
4. Smoked all the lenses
5. Gibson axle back is on order
6. Wheels (FR500) will be last thing I do since I already have the performance package with the wheels and the gear as it is....

Already have the 3.31 gears and suspension with the PP, forgot to mention that. From what I can gather, the intake (with tune) is really the boost upgrade. Also considering leaving that for last and doing the rest to get the car ready for that piece to make sure it can take full advantage on install.

so: exhaust (cat back), tubes/mid, TB, hood, and THEN intake/tune

So if I knew what I know now, this is what I would do:
3.73 gears and MPT tune
Lower control arms
Lone Wolf ported upper/lower intake manifolds
BBK Shorty Headers
Dynotech 3.5" driveshaft
JLT CAI
BBK 73mm throttle body
Stainless Works catback
5.0 brake upgrade
Better tires and wheels
Eibach prokit suspension
Adjustable panhard

Now I'm thinking of getting the SCT Wireless tuner first just to start messing around with that and logging data on the stock setup. Anyone using this and what do you think of it? I will be using it with my Galaxy S3.
