Default Oil Seperator Contents

I just emptied my JLT oil separator for the first time after about 4k miles. The cup was almost full and the contents looked like muddy water. I got about an ounce. Is this normal? I thought it was supposed to catch oil but this stuff looked nasty! If that's what's normally going back into the engine, why doesn't every Mustang have one?

if its watery its from the condensation that forms before it gets up to temp, once it heats up the water evaporates and then gets caught in the can, along with any oil vapor's.

they dont come stock because $$

Thank you, I was really worried. I was skeptical about getting one but now I'm a believer.
