Dipping Rims

can you dip the stock 03 cobra rims so they are chrome instead of just silver. are their any disadvantages to doing that? would it be better to just buy chromes or is that all a chrome rim is, just a silver rim dipped to chrome.

yes you can do that, a company in the twin cities does it for $120 a wheel, so you may want to just buy new ones for $60-$80 more per wheel, I guess.

Well, I dont know the cost of dipping rims but if it outweighs the cost of buying new chrome ones or decent replicas (just swap in your centercaps) then I wouldn't do it. Keep in mind that Factory rims tend to have some sort of clear coat on them as well. You'll probably want to find something similar to protect the chrome from pitting.

advantages: looks good and little maintenance
disadvantages: fairly expensive and adds alot of weight to the wheels
