Default Crank pulley bolt- How do I remove it?

I'm installing a bbk underdrive kit, but I'm having troubleremoving the center crank pulley bolt (04 4.6 automatic). How do you keep the crank pulley from turning when you try to undo the bolt? Do you jam something, like a screwdriver, in one of the little holes or something? Thanks

You need to use a pulley puller tool. Air tools help out too

Put the car in gear. It may still spin though. When I did mine it still spun in 1st, 2nd and 3rd. 4th barely moved, and 5th stayed put. I dunno if it will work the same with an auto, though.

Put it in park, engage the parking brake and have a friend hold alternator pully still by pressing down on it and the belt. It will stay put.

Use air tools. That is what I did. It made installation extremely quick and easy!

+1 on the pulley puller, if you don't have it it isn't going to come off.

Actually if you would have scrolled up and reread the first post it was just that the pulley was turning. NO mention of a puller problem. So maybe you ought to READ!!!!
