Just wondering how feasiable it is to put a 428 Cobra Jet Engine with a C6 transmission into a SN95 chassis model cobra. Yes I have both the Engine and tranny sitting around, and I want to do something that you don't see everyday. Any records of this being done, or attempted? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

That's a pretty HEAVY engine/tranny to stick into an SN95,, and it's old skool too. But if your already have the engine then yea you can probably stick it in there. Do some basic measurements & compare,,, Your biggest challenge will be to find headers for that beast.

wish I had a CJ just sitting around. Anything is possible with a big enough checkbook. Your going to need some beefy springs to hold that beast off the ground and I'm sure you will have to fab some sort of motor mounts. Also are you looking to get your A/C to work? You would probably need some sort of independent ECU system or something. I'm sure there are people on here that would be able to point you in the right direction. Sounds like a good idea though.My neighbor has a 14 ft wooden speedboat with a 428 CJ on the back......my god....

Nah, won't be needing the A/C since its definately not going to be a daily driven car.
Here's a list of what I know for sure:
1. I will have to custom fab motor mounts to make the engine fit into the bay.
2. I will need a cowl hood or some other kind of aftermarket hood to fit due to the tall air intake/cleaner
3. I will need "beastly"springs to hold the mother up.
4. I will not need an ECU, just a really damn good tune - gotta love carburateors - until I start doing some more serious stuff (a big T-88 turbo perhaps???)
5. I need a "donor" car, perferrably just a shell, interior and exterior, no motor or tranny.
6. I have a full drivetrain, the C6 tranny, a 9" Rear, and a set of rear axels.
7. I am possibly considering a t-56 6-speed, but I hate GM ;-)
8. This project won't be done for a while (1-2 years).
and Finally
9. This will make my dad's GT500KR look slow HAHA!

Motor plates would be the easiest way. Good luck on headers though. Same with the oil pan. There are swap kits to put the FE in fox body cars, so you might find a pan. And dont bet on it being faster than the KR, pretty sure the sn-95 weighs more than the old stangs.

Aren't there plenty of fabbed kits to fit a 460 V-8 in a Fox body? I'd think this would be in the same direction as the old FE family of engines(428CJ) and the 385 series(429CJ/460) are similar in dimensions. I'd think a tubular K-member would make things easier too.......

I picked up a D1VE 460(2YABC) w/C9 74cc heads 3 weeks ago for $350. The "Two Brothers Junk Yard" in Pahrump, NV pulled and deliverred for total of $390!
I am having them do the same with a very nice C6 this weekend for $290.

The engine was in an '81 F-250!
All 8 plugs are coffe w/cream.

I pulled a Weiand Stealth off a '79 Ford Bronco in Henderson, NV a week ago and bought it for $30!

I also found a BUNCH of dif's and will be grabbing one of the bunch nxt week...

All going into my SN95 red mustang convert. A near mint and not a spec of rust vehicle I bought 3 yrs ago.
It was purchased with 123k on her...and now has 254k! I commute approx 150 miles a day...5-6 days a week.
Well, mileage says prob only get til Feb-Apr 2014 with v6 drivetrain...then the 7-10 day conversion.
