Default injector colors = size?

Just wondering, a buddy of mine who is supposedly a ford know-it-all told me today that my injectors on my '02 4.6were the wrong size, just by looking at the color. I know that the stock size should be 19lb/hr. , or at least was for the 5.0. He then proceeded to tell me that the ones in my car were 24lb/hr. Are they color coded, and if they are, what is the cheat sheet, or where can i find it?

ok, if pink is 21lb's, and came on 03-04 GT's, then why does my '02 GT have them, and how can I tell if they are matched to the MAF?

I think they came out late 02 because mine has a 02 block in it and it had the pink ones in it until i changed them. They should be matched being they came from the factory like that

why, are you having problems with the car?

Having a maf "matched" to a certian jnjector is a myth. This comes from the adjustable maf setups like the C&L where you can change the internal tube size to change the reading, thus faking out the ECM and tuning the car. It can also be used to lower the sampling area on these aftermarket mafs so a higher horsepower car doens't peg them.

Unless its an aftermarket maf, there isn't anyway to "tune" the maf to the injectors, its all done in the ECM. If its an aftermarket maf, the dealership isn't going to know anything about it anyway.

yeah, been having issues with the car running "like a rich tuned carb." im dumping alot of fuel, and getting really poor fuel mileage. anyways, ford gets it back tomorrow to do some other work, so im gonna have them check it out.

Just get it tuned. When ford upgraded the injectors they also upgraded the ecu. If you go to the dealer they are just gonna say some bs and charge you abunch of money when its probablly best to just get your car tuned.
