My boss just showed me this video and it claims that adding 1/4 cup of "Pure Acetone" to your gas tank you can significantly increase your fuel economyand it's not bad for your motor. Has anyone ever heard thisclaim before? I'm always sceptical of these types of things. Here's a link to the video.

Never heard of it, acetone is a solvent so dont see how its going to improve anything and seems kinda harsh to me.

Acetone will eat away at rubber. It may not eat away at anything in the gas tank itself, but there are rubber lines, seals, o-rings in the fuel system that it will destroy, not to mention eating away at the paint on your car should you spill any on the paint. Acetone is also commonly known as nail polish remover...

yup i wouldnt try it, but really is there anything u guys use to improve mpg or performance, ive seen people pour other liquids in the gas tank but are any recommend or good for our cars?

I heard if you pee in your gas tank you will get better fuel econmy too! Try it.....

Sorry but when you own a muscle car do you really concern yourself with fuel economy?
