393 and 600rwhp?

RE: 393 and 600rwhp?
pretty tough. With that kind of horsepower, you'll need a racing block such as Dart iron eagle, World, or Ford Racing. I'd go with a 9.5 deck 4.125 bore block (351W base) and fill it with good forged internals. AFR nitrous heads and a big shot of N2O is the only chance you'll have for meeting budget since SCs and TCs will add a bunch of cost.

Its possible. You don't have to have an aftermarket block either. The 393 would be a little less reliable than the 408 due to the rod ratio. If you are attempting this on pump gas then you will need a power adder to do it. The last 408 I built made just over 550 rwhp on pump gas and could be driven with no issues. It was a 71 block, eagle forged steel crank, H-beam rods, JE pistons, TFS High Ports, Bennett cam, TFS intake, main girdle, and a few other small parts. This was through a set of Kooks headers.

Ok cool thanks for the info and combination you were running. I was plaining on running nitrous on this car to so im sure my power expectations aren't to much. Was your block a 4 bolt main and what car/truck did you get it out of?

Factory 2 bolt block
393 ci.
Good cam with lots of durration and lift
AFR 205 heads
10-12psi Turbo
600rwhp no problem...................
Engine......... $5,000
Turbo ........ $3-5,000
dont forget the drive train ............ trans, clutch, bellhousing, driveshaft, differential, axles
all will need to be upgraded

Are you guys making motors in stock 351W blocks with 600whp (700 +/- at the crank) last for any length of time? I have a 418 running 641 HP at the crank N/A on race fuel and really haven't pushed it with N20 due to the "rule of thumb" 700 HP limit of a good, seasoned 351W block...
maybe it's time fopr me to shut up and listen.

I wouldnt push one much past 650rwhp, walking on thin ice.
Thats a LOT of power to ask out of any production block........
