i am in canada and my friends works at one of the places that pay 15/h and hes only 15 lol.......but i have a c4 auto with a stock torque converter, and autos assorb torque of the launch and shifts so it sounds pretty safe to me........and if the axle breaks it would just blow up on the line i've seen it b4.
dude with that big motor you will need a bigger torque converter, it may work fine if you dont stroke it, but with a 408 it will idle too high and not even flooring the break will stop you completely. and just take my work for it, you may not go out of control when you break that axle, but theres always a possibility that something bad could happen, take my word for it, the 7.5 is NOT enough for a 351 or a 408. theres a reason the STOCK 2.3's were given a 7.5 and the STOCK 5.0's were given a 8.8 in your years. if cant even handle a 302, why do you think it would handle a 351 nonetheless a 408?
yai guess i could get one, i also bought the tranny off some guy lol used so cant really do much until next year i'll have to like lauch from idle lol
i thought you got that tranny off the guy with you got the 351 from. if not it will most likely need a rebuilt with a bigger stall. again, you wont even launch 5 inches without snapping that axle

i am gunna have to agree with him, dropping in an engine to a car that once had 88 HP is no easy feat. its not just drop it in and drive, not only are you going to need the engine, but your going to need stuff like engine mounts and crossmembers to hold up the heavier engine. that transmission will need to be worked on if you are stroking the 351w. the rear end will need to be replaced with an 8.8 or 9 inch rear. new driveshaft to accomodate the tranny and axle. all new suspension to hndle the power. none of that stuff is expensive. i mean it will in no way be easy and cheap. you need a job or you need to put a boundaries to accomodate your budget for your project. i knw i sound like an *** but i have been there once before, my dad wouldt even let me buy a car untill i had $4000 in the bank after i buy the car, and $1000 is for future insurance. trust me on this one, if you get that engine in your car without changing the suspension or axle, it is just going to end up costing you MORE money in the longrun. you can do serious damage if the suspention in front isnt strong enough, and you have heard what can happen if you dont swap the rear. you will also need heavy duty disc brakes, overall, it wil costs at least $10000 to upgrade to the bare minimum to have to make your car run and drive and perform OK on the road

ok man take a chill pill, just trying to help you make sure your car wont blow up

what you should do with that 7.5 axle is to clean it up and build a go cart frame and use that. do you still have that 2.3 engine?

would be a fun project
