the foxbody 4cyl to 351w swap: i bought 5L motor mounts and when i dropped the engine in they dont line up with the k-member, almost seems the mounts need to be stretched out more. i took off both 4cyl mounts. and the 5L are not on backwards. Any ideas?

Did you remove the 4 cyl from the car. Just asking because if the car originally can with a 6 cyl then the K-member is different on the foxbody cars. Other than that I don't know why the mounts would be off. Any photos?

It must be an I-6 body. Other than that, minor manufacturing variances are the only differences I've seen.

I'm 100% sure the engine was a 2.3L 4cyl.

Hmmmm, the only other thing I can think of is that the mounts aren't for a fox body. Otherwise I'm not sure......

Found out the guy ordered me in the wrong mounts. ahhh. I got some 89 Gt 5L mounts now and they look like they'll fit.
