i dont think most people have too many problems with them, as far as i've researched at least. most people are around and under the 11 sec times. most 408's are in the mid to low 10's. a lot of the turbo/supercharger builds are done off of a 357 build

your only problem would probably be trying to not have so much fun

i think he means it's not a 'real' aftermarket block that can withstand upwards of 1200hp like a dart block. i think it's like a stock block with little changes here and there, but still a 'stock block'. I believe i've read that somewhere

I am not interested in having 1200+ HP. Just a solid block. Is this an opinion on the sportsman block or personal experience.I have been doing a little research on the sportsman and it seems pretty solid.

the only thing i see wrong with your car mitch is that i need that tranny, heads, intake, fox swap headers, and carb on MY car instead of your's lol. i could meet you at the track for the swap if that's ok.

but seriously, i dont see anything wrong, but i also dont know anything about what's wrong or right, so i'd listen to r.barn and a few of the others that chime in a bit. i know other sites you could check out too, but you can pm me for those since i dont know if it's bad to do that here or not

Thats ALOT of compression, what class are you building this motor to run in cause with that compression, lift and carb this will not run on the street besides going from driveway to trailor.

I got a 408 with a 950 on it at 11 to 1 with a victor top end and eagle bottom I get 2 to 3 miles to the gallon on 93 octane which nets me 30-40 miles to the TANK. I can't imagine that onrace gas at 8 a gallon
