408w setup
I am thinking of building a 408 stroker for my mustang, I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction. I dont know if I shouldhave itfuel injected or carbureted... Also, I was just wondering what some of you guys have as far as head setups that correspond with either fuel system...
Thanks, Addison

RE: 408w setup
There are alot of different ways you can go. Few things to consider
What are you looking to do with the car? Daily driver, street/strip, race car
What trans are you running?
How much do you have to spend on getting it up and running
Do you have emissions where you live?
If you do what type? Visual? Sniffer?
Fuel system is gonna correspond to what your doing carb usually people go with holly blue pumps or try stock in tank pump and get a pressure regulator. Injection I am not really familiar with but your gonna need larger injectors and maybe a higher volume fule pump to feed those bigger injectors, other people will know more about that then me.

haha, yeah I forgot to mention...
I'm planning on a built C4, with 4.10's... no emissions, and it's a summer driver...
As far as a budget, I'm most likely doing this over the next few years so there isn't a set budget... yet. I'm just kinda saving up right now.

RE: 408w setup
how much time do you want to spend studying fuel injectiion? It's a lot more than just work to get it running, it's a lot of studying aswell that most people can't figure out. It takes months and months to properly tune a car and endless nights of reading and buckets of tylenol. If your up to the task of playing with the eec-iv's internals, go FI, if not, go carbed

RE: 408w setup
lol... sounds like I'll be doing a carbureted setup then.
What would be a good brand name of cylinderheads?
and, What specs on a cam should I be looking at?
Any ideas for combos would be greatly appreciated... because I'm not really familiar with it.
Thanks, Addison

RE: 408w setup
FI is real nice on the street. Starts good in the cold, idles nice, and makes its own adjustments for changes in tune. I have a 408 with a c4 and 4.10s. Mine is a street car and I wish I had spent the extra money on a AOD. I am running 28 inch tires but highway driving does suck. The car runs 6.7 at 104 in the 1/8th. Carbs run great at full throttle, other than that FI has them covered.
And Liquid_02 I know squat about eec I just put the key in and drive.
