Dyno numbers are ok but the real deal is the time slip. ET and MPH will always give you what you really have. Can't tell you about a 408 but I am doing a 393 for myself and I will post that when I get it done and tuned. My current 5.8 runs decent:

13 cc KB hyperutetic pistons(9.8 to 1 comp)
stock rods with arp rod bolts shot peened and resized.
Factory heads ported with Ferrea valves and 450lb open spring pressure and 10 degree locks
850 AED HOM carburetor
Parker Racing Funnelweb 2V intake
Flat solid cam set up for my combo
stock 3.5 stroke crank
balanced for 28 oz with FRPP billet flywheel and factory balancer
Heddman Hussler 1and 7/8 inch headers
3 inch exhaust with X pipe through Dynomax bullet mufflers and dumps
MSD 6AL and Billet Distributor with Balster SS coil FRPP plug wires
Mallory 140 GPH Fuel pump and fuel 8 AN fuel line
4.30 FRPP gears and 31 spline FRPP axles
Promotion Straight Cut Face Tooth T 5 transmission
FRPP Aluminum drive shaft
26 inch slicks on 15X10 Weld Pro Stars and 15X3.5 Weld Pro Stars on front
Driven extensively on street.
Use 91 Octane Fuel and no power adder
Best to date
1.5 60 ft
101.xx in the 1/8th @ 6.88
127.xx in the 1/4 @ 10.749

Hope to do better with my all motor 393 I am building.

Joe
