Just a little update, got the block completely stripped, cylinder walls have a little bit of rust from the motor sitting in a junkyard, but nothing that I wasn't expecting. Otherwise it looks great! Can't wait to get it down to the machine shop and make sure it's not cracked anywhere and have it cleaned up. Hopefully it's still got the stock bore. I don't have any telescoping gauges or a mic at the house so I can't check those yet. Stay tuned!

What does it matter if it's stock bore? Gonna bore it out for a 408 or 393 kit anyways aren't you? Glad to hear it though! I just got my 408 on the road today, and I'll tell ya, if you go with a 408, you WILL NOT be disappointed. Speedo couldn't keep up

because if the block is already .040 and the bores are trash... the block is no good..
So i feel like a newb for asking this but aside from the 1/2 inch bolt hole needed, are all of the sbf heads the same from 260's all the way up to 351's? I can't seem to find a 351w specific head lol
