Default how do i know if its a 351

i just traded my streetbike for a 87 notch guy told me it has a 351 how do i double check as to that to be sure its a 351 before i start buying parts im moving from front wheel drive 700 hp car to a rear wheel drive and i wanna build this to be a 8 second car but unsure of motor thats in the car

Well if you can get us an up close pic of the base of the dizzy we can tell ya. What 700hp front wheel drive car did you used to have? You are also in for alot of work to make it an 8 second car. Either alot of nitrous or some boost.

i had a srt4 fully built cammed and a huge turbo off a semi

isnt there a size differance in intake mani`s i can measure as i kno the 351 is a taller deck then the 302 but wouldnt know the size differance

Yes the intake on the 351 is wider than the 302 but if you get a pic like stated above we will be able to tell you for sure.

I hate those cars lol. I rebuilt the motor in my buddies 04 last spring because he broke a couple ring lands and trashed his main bearings scaring his crank. The oil seals in his turbo where bad so it leaked and burnt oil constantly. They can be pretty quick though.

what part do u guys want a picture of i can get it tomorrow and upload it and another problem im having is the heater and a/c fan do not work now does the computer control all of that because if so then i know as to why its not working i have power at the back of the fan switch but nothing getting to the blower motor resistor

if it doesn't clear a stock hood it is a 351. Unless the suspension was redone to lower the motor.

A 351 can clear a stock hood without lowering the motor (hard to do but can be done). My 302 barely clears the stock hood but yea if it doesn't then it is a good chance its a 351. Just get a pic of your engine bay, front and center, then we can see what we need to from there (the deck height seen behind the base of the dizzy where the intake sits).

As for the fan, check your fuzes.
