Red face 306 or 408

Current set-up is a built 306 stroker with a trickflow stage 3 cam, M90 supercharger (for ****s and giggles. lol) and other goodies.
my main question is the heads on the 306 currently are Gt40 heads with a full port and polish and 1.6 rocker. i plan to build a 408 stroker and turbo the motor. was wonderin if the heads off the 306 will work. or do i have to buy some other heads?

technically a 306 is not a stroker.

and gt40 heads will never flow enough to handle 408 cubes

Maybe for an over sized paperweight. The GT40's are barely enough for a stock 302 let alone another 100+ cubes. You will need to spend the good 2K or so on getting a set of heads setup for what you want.

GT-40 HEADS ARE TO SMALL FOR A 408, besides they would have to be drilled to accept 1/2 head bolts for a 351 based stroker.

Wait a minute, mjr is wrong! lol j/p

GT40's already have the 1/2 inch head bolt holes. Mine came that way at least and they were never toughed before I got them. Anyway that doesn't matter because they won't work for a 408. I don't even know why ford had them on the 351 in the first place because they are barely enough for a mild 302 build until they have extensive porting done.
