Default 393 stroker with edelbrock top end kit

So i cracked a piston in my 351w from running to lean with the turbo... anyways i am looking to purchase a 393 stroker shortblock with forged pistons. My question is has anyone used the Edelbrock 351w performer RPM H/C/I combo in a 393 stroker or 408 stroker? The combo was very consistant on the 351w but how will it react to the 393? I am on a tight budget and cant afford new heads so any input would be helpful.

it is really not enough head for that CID will it run yes will it make the power a 393 could with a better flowing head no. I think you should just stay with the 351 the 70mm turbo in your sig. is also to small for the 383 and will have back pressure issues on top of the poor flowing heads. The whole thing is starting to sound like a real bad miss match of parts. IMO

Well I am actually planning to go back to N/A. I am moving shortly, need the money but want to keep the car so im just going to set it back up as a motor. With my H/C/I on my motor I made roughly 310whp. I mean how much could I really get for my heads? Could I just take them to a shop and have them ported out for more flow?

Just use them until you can afford better. Im in the same boat as you. Im also building a 393 and I have AFR 185's. They to are too small for a 393 but Im going to run the **** out of them for now.

You will make decent power with what you have. Do a solid bottom end and when the cash is there you can put a better top end on while selling the original stuff to recoupe some money.
