oil pan, non-existent long tube headers (Bassani's are free for $1300, and everyone knows shorties on a "real" engine are a joke... anyone who says otherwise is A: an idiot, and B: lazy),

351W dist, 3" hood, different fuel pump, FPR, lines, and a bunch of other BS.

You need to clarify what you consider a "real" engine before making a blanket statement. It doesn't answer the OP's question. Spending $600 on a set of long tubes for a 15-20 hp gain on a 350 hp motor would qualify one as an idiot.

To install a 351w in a SN95:
- extended fuel crossover for the rails
- Headers: Shorties (Hooker, Anderson Ford motorsports has a better set, and Bassani made a set a few years ago.) Longtubes: Choices suck = Kooks, accufab, or custom. Expect to pay $600 or more.
- 28 oz flywheel and balancer
- 94-95 F250 distributor. Not one from a Lightning.
- You will need to swap all your front accessories and timing cover from your 302.

a real engine is any motor that actually warrants going through the hassle of actually doing this swap...

a motor that wont benefit from longtubes, honestly has no place in the car IMO, because the weight gain wont justify the slight increase in torque, not to mention the increase in rotating assembly weight. just stick with a 331/347. hell, go ***** out and do a 363...

and spending $600 to get 20hp doesnt seem to bad to me...

Plus you can you MAC Longtube Fox 351 headers, I have them on my car. They are meant for an Auto but I made them work with my T5. Also you will need a longer serp. belt and hoses to go from your waterpump to your water neck and heater line. I re-used my upper and lower radiator hoses from my 306.

Also go to corral.net if you want real tech info.

How did you get them to clear the steering shaft? I tried MAC's a few years ago and they cleared on the pass side but, they hit the steering shaft. I ended up going with Accufab from that point.

+1

ive heard that using a Flaming River steering shaft clears up the issue, but they cost a pretty penny as well...

its just to expensive/aggravating/annoying to do this IMO...

just my .02

I've dyno'd my combo's with long tubes and shorties. With that being said all my dyno time was with supercharged cars. The set I run on my 96 are 1 3/4 Anderson shorties. With my combo long tubes gained 20 rwhp at 15 lbs of boost. With out them it made 620 rwhp. Now when I had the 408 in it with an XX-trim yes, it was too much for the shorties. I had some customs fabbed for it. It made way north of the current combo.
N/A cars would react differently in my opinion.
The problem is that no one makes a good set of long tubes for our cars.

In April I'll take some photos of the different fox headers and the issues when swapping them into a SN-95. I've got a 2000 with a 383w in it now with no exhaust yet.
