Default 408w carb selection help.

Hi guys i just purchased a 408w. Now i think the previous owner had it way over carb'd. It has an eldelbrock 1050 cfm carb. I'm not carb expect but i think itd be more responsive with say a 800 cfm?

What are you guys running on your 408's. Any suggestions. Whats a good starting point with jetting?

I run a 1050 on my 417ci. But this is a very high hp engine. On a street car with decent heads you should go with a 750.

i would stick with the 1050, get an a/f guage and see how it reads b4 buying a new carb. you can always get a jet kit and bring it down a notch.
