engine build question

Default engine build question

i am building a 408 stroker. i have the stroker kit and cam so far but nothing else besides the block. would it hurt to put it together as i get the parts or should i wait to have everything first. thanks in advance.

I would wait till you have all the parts. easier to keep clean and you can keep a eye on the block in case it starts to rust.

You can assemble the bottom end and wrap it with some suran wrap, spray it with a spray lube really well and if it will be a while before completing mix a thick assembly lube and apply generously to the bearings and rings where it dosent seize!

it is completely fine to do so!

or you can also leave everything in the boxs and wait!

You need to take the rotating assembly with the balancer and flexplate/flyeheel that you plan to use and get it all balanced.
You have have an accurate balance job unless it's balanced with the balnacer and flexplate/flywheel.
I'd then just keep the parts stashed until you have everything......

Well I`d hope that was obvious but good call! very wise to spend the extra change for the balance job!

it has already been balanced. i ordered it that way and have the documents for it. im just getting antsy and want to get it started and was just making sure it was okay to that before i really messed it up.
