which block?

69-74 where the best blocks. but the 69-70 blocks had a bit shorter deck height 9.480 compared to the 9.500 if I remember right so doing a stroker with the old block and the short deck height can have you running into issues. Then there is the F4te blocks that came in the vans and trucks they are the last 351 castings out there and they will accept the stock roller lifters. now you will hear that they dont hold as much HP and the mid 80s block wont hold as much HP stay with the old ones. Well I think run what you want while the older ones maybe a bit better. Most and 351w block will take 700+ HP if done right. I have seen 1000 HP set ups with stock 351 block also but it is back to how long will they last.

there is no hole in the side of the block for a fuel pump. There is a hole in the timing cover and you can swap your cover off the 302 to the 351 or they make block off plates for the hole also. you do know that you need other parts for the swap right. that dont swap between the 302 and 351.

yes 69-74 as said above. I have a 1974 351w block for sale, Block is fresh from machine shop along with the stock standard bearing crank. Was checked for cracks and sizing. Would make a very good motor. I'll give the heads, rods, and other extras i have. If interested message me.
