Default Sunrise over the salt flats

Went to Salt Lake City and picked up my 82 Capri over the weekend. She's no beauty queen, but for it's age it's in pretty damn good condition! I haven't found a dent in it yet. All the trim, bumpers, bezels etc are in great shape. The oxidizing of the paint will buff out and be done soon!

The 1st thing, before I get carried away, is too figure out how to get it smogged so I can get it registered and insured. I'm pretty sure that it doesn't have any CA smog stuff on it whatever that may be. Idk. I guess I need to take it to my smog dude and let him look at it. You got any suggestions? Like the old saying goes, there's a way around everything Then, I guess I'm gonna clean it up and just drive it for fun. Maybe paint it. I was thinking matte black. I would make an aluminum hood scoop and polish it. The headlight bezels are perfect and would clean up nicely. Put some polished tips on the exh. pipes and some nice wheels on it. Idk about the grille

A smog guy should be able to tell you what is should have. An air cleaner for sure. You could always find a "friendly" smog shop but you risk the mobile smog check stations.

I haven't seen any mobile smog check stations up in my part of the state. But, that could change.

Thank you. No troubles at all. Well, until I got to CA then had to slow down to 60! I love the speed limits in Nv and UT. I made it from my house to the u-haul in S.L in 9 hours flat. Mapquest said it would be 10hrs 28 mins. But, it was 11 hours 15 mins getting home. But we stopped a few more times than we did on the way out. The trouble started after I got home. Took the car out for a spin and it was bucking and coughing and backfiring. Went back and opened the hood and it was just a plug wire had fallen off. I like those easy fixes

The car runs like a raped ape! Wheel hops like a rabbit. What's the deal with that? Need some traction bars or something? Forgive my ignorance. I haven't done much suspension work, tuning, tweaking etc. I'm here to learn and share.
