ok guys got a quick question, i was looking at getting a older 351w and making a 408 stroker out of it, if the block is prepared right, a girddle is used...the whole 9 yards, what type of horse power can these blocks handle?

what yearr block? and yes it does matter. check out my thread in the 351 section and you can see the differences in the mains and webbing

They'll hold about 700hp flywheel

Forget the girdle, all they are good for is high rpm engines
to help stablize the crank, they do nothing for block strength

The coupe I just sold was making over 600rwhp with a F4TE block. It had been making that power for almost 2 years when I sold it. I'd push a '71 to ~650rwhp and 6500rpm before I started to worry.
