Hey guys, I was just wondering what the easiest way to remove the side markers on the 99-04s was. Do I need to remove the whole rear bumper cover? Thanks for the help...

you have to remove bumper its screwed in from the back

You can go from the back bottom, there is a small jack that you can get to the 8mm nuts I believe. You just have to worry about snaking your hand up into there. If you can not, then you will have to remove the bumper.

i just removed one of the 8 mm bolts, then broke off the the other. i take it that your installing clear ones? i put the new ones on with one bolt and some clear silicone. it works just fine, and they arent going any where.

Ok, thanks for the replies. Actually im takin the factory ones out, wetsanding the letters off of them, and Im gonna spray the nightshades and clear/wetsand them. Ill just save it for a winter project...

Wet sanding the DOT letters off?? They are really small, do you think anyone besides you will notice?

might as well wet sand them since hes painting it... it will be a cleaner paint job.
