Well, got on the dyno yesterday, and had some good results. Pulled off 264rwhp and 293rwtq! Not too shabby! I emailed the charts to B A M A last night and Doug already emailed me back with new tunes.
Here are the charts. The first one shows runs 1 and 3, using the Performance tune. The speed limiter was set to 120 on the first run, and removed for the second run.
The second chart shows the second run, done with the Performance Plus tune. There was some knock that set the sensor off, so timing was pulled a couple times during the run.
All in all, not too bad at all. And the dyno facility made my car "Ride of the Month" and an advertising agency stopped by, threw 20" chrome rims on the car, and took a bunch of pics for a magazine ad! A good day indeed!!!!!!

question. I see you have the PH Driveshaft. now i heard that our driveshafts will fall out after 120mph, so could that happen on the dyno? just curious.

The dyno is the only place that I have heard of that happening. If I can recall, it happened to 2 people on this form. The stock DS is rated at 115. I have had my speed-opinned at 120...im guessinI was going 125-130...I let off real quick though because I was scared of my car poll vaulting when the DS droppes out....

Yeah, I can only speak of one that busted on the dyno. I believe he was up around 130 when the stock driveshaft went.
My speed limiter was set on the tune to 120mph because at the time I still had the stock driveshaft. Now that I have the PH driveshaft, the speed limiter will be taken off. And the rev limiter is set to 5800 (the lowest it would go) since I started to lean out near the top end. Hopefully the new tunes will take car of that!

Anyone have any idea who started this rumor about our driveshafts falling out at 120 MPH?
Sounds darn silly to me.
I've had mine up over 120 several times by now and had no problems much less worries about such a thing happening.
I think it's a bogus rumor in any case. Never heard of such a thing.

Who did it happen to and why? Were they pushing a ton more HP to the rear wheels as with supercharging etc?
I can't see any driveshaft made to fail over x speed. My god, just think of the law suits Ford would have to deal with for allowing such a flaw to exist.
They probably broke due to too much torquebeing pumped through them as is possible with boosted setups. Not speed related though.

It is my understanding that the 2005 Mustang into the very early part of 2006 didn't have clips on the driveshaft. The rest of 2006 and on have clips in place for the stock driveshaft.

So do the clips keep the shaft in place in case of a failure or keep it aligned or keep it from failing or what?
Have you driven your car over 120 and if so how is it?
