Where is lx200 when you need him? The lack of an intercooler doesn't seem to increase stress on the engine because the tune for the x-charger pulls timing as things heat up to prevent detonation. The temperature inside the engine during combustion is hundreds of times hotter than the air coming in. The key is in the tune not allowing the engine to operate outside of safe operating conditions.
Besides, Steeda is located in FL and they have selected the x-charger as the S/C to sell for 4.0's.

Yeah, I'm in on it. I was #2. I would have been #1 but I didn't see the post for about 45 minutes.
I should have just looked up the debate you were having with ChrisC and referenced it. I thought you explained what the real effects of the lack of intercooler were pretty well.
I hope you are right since I have now repeated it on the internet!

Is there anyone with an x-charger in western Kentucky or southern Indiana that would be willing to let me look at their car? I'm thinking it would cost about the same to trade for a used S197 GT as to install the x-charger. In addition to the x-charger I would think that a set of gears and a LSD would be required plus LCA's. Is that correct?
Hey, we're almost neighbors. Yahoo maps says its like 112 miles from Owensboro, KY to Mt. Washington, KY. Let me know if you get an x-charger and we can meet half way and kick tires and such.

Steve
I want one real bad but I have two car payments and am trying to buy my first house so it will probably be a few years but if you ever wanted to meetup to compare notes and such in say hardinsburg (US 60 Raceway) or Beech Bend in BG I can always try to talk the wife into it.
1 quick question,,, I dont want duals I just want to keep the 1 fat pipe out the pass side ,,, will that work ok with the X?
Too restrictive? Too loud? Will the pressure blow the FRPP muffler to bits?
ok that like 3 questions in one.
