Hey Pat... are you running the 2.8 pulley, and are you dyno tuned? I just broke down and ordered the 2.8 pulley. I barely ever beat my car, so I rarely go over 4500 RPM. So with the 3.0 pulley, I don't get near max boost. So with the 2.8, I hope to get 6-7 psi in my most used range of 2500-4500 RPM.

For those that have the X already, or some of you guys that are getting a nice fresh X from the Group-Buy. What is the installation cost?
I know some of you guys are technical enough to install it yourself, but the guys that have paid for an install - What'd it cost you?
I've heard numbers like 750-850 dollars for an install. Does that seem about right? I don't doubt it's pricey, just want to get a ballpark figure. Thanks!

I'm just curious, I'm running Magnaflow true duals, and thats all thats been done to my car performance wise. I'm thinking about buying an XCharger, and was wondering, by just installing the system alone, then getting a custom tune, a smaller pulley, and a Ford T-Lok for power to both wheels, what am I looking at for numbers? I want to be around the 400RWHP Range.
Also, is it possible to make higher boost levels? I'd like to be running around 8.
Nobody knows what the intercooler will yield, as it isn't out. Depending on the size, and the water cooler radiator size, you could get a wide range of actual inlet air temps out of the intercooler, which directly effects the timing you can run and the density of the air (and hence amount of O2).
Anyway, you don't get an X to be the fastest car at the track. You do it because...
1. It runs safe levels of boost
2. It is an Eaton blower, which produces max torque at low RPM. This is good for street use
3. The kit is on like 70 cars, and no consistent reported problems
4. Kit is complete and instructions are clear. You can do it yourself and save $800 on install, and also have the satisfaction of knowing you didn't just throw money at somebody to make your car faster (which anybody can do)
5. The Eaton blower has a self contained oil supply, no oil pan tapping
6. The Eaton blowers have been made in the MILLIONS, and are the preferred choice of superchargers for many car makers
7. Eaton design is VERY RELIABLE.... they've made millions and are on on 4th/5th generation of different blowers
8. The Eaton blower has an addictive "whine" or "howl" when you hit 2500 RPM and above
There are also many reasons one would get a turbo or centri. Those units would include "best times at the track and max RWHP".
I understand that there are some design issues regarding the production of an intercooler for the Xcharger; however, for the last several months, people keep saying one will be out "at the beginning of the year", "early spring" or "summer". Is this just talk, or is there a legit probability that the intercooler will be producted and available in the near future or has EE scapped this project?
In leu of the intercooler, how well has the water/meth system worked for people and what are some RWHP numbers people are seeing with the setup?

well, a few very reputable and respected members of MF have stated that they have received direct info from EE that an intercooler is indeed in development. since EE has been such a respected and quality company thus far based off customer reviews, i'm sure they are doing there best to make sure that the intercooler is a quality piece that will not fall short on reliability. i only say this because i am experiencing this with my own company on a product that is very much anticipated in our own industry and is still undergoing refinement. i'm confident an intercooler will be available by the time i have my stang fully paid which will free up the cash i need to get me a fully loaded X[8D].
