I was looking at getting an x-charger at some point but I wanted to know a few things about them first. I have a 7.5 rear with 3.73 gears would I really need to up it to the 8.5 rear? I don't beat on my car I would just need it to hand a few track pulls and a little bit of abuse from time to time. Would the 7.5 be okay for this? Also what about our driveshaft I know it should be replaced but how long would it last? I don't plan to do over 110mph though which is when it usually runs into problems. Is the kit able to just be bolted on and good to go without any major upgrades right away?
i have over 30 k miles on my x with the 7.5 rear and stock gears. i did however replace the dif with a t-loc20 k ago. and i have a fair amount of track time

I always look at it this way.... you can replace your rear with an 8.8 because you are afraid it will break, which will cost you $800 now, or you can just stick with your rear and only replace it IF it breaks.
I opt to stick with my 7.5 and spend the money later if I HAVE TO. In the meantime, I will use the $800 toward an intercooler when it is available.
Besides, the Godfather has spoken. He has 30k and has had no problems, so there is no better endorsement than that.

Hi Tom, yup, everything is cool. My Mustang is up to 6000 miles on it (ha). Just don't spend too much time of the boards anymore. Guess you have been able to stay at home lately, huh? I have to try to get out to see Death Race... do you like how it turned out?
