hey does anyone know when this package would be available ? because the dealerships that i've called did not even know about this package and the other ones said tehy would call me back on it ? im not sure if they understood me or not but I just basically straight out read word for word out of the 2008mustang brochure to explain to them abou the v6 package ? and one guy said that this was not something they could NOT install.. it was something that has to come from the factory ?

hmmm well i just got a call back from the dealership.... they told me theres no possible way they can put that upgrade on any v6 mustangs because they are not allowed to change the PCM ? that upgrade is something taht can only be done at the factory... and i asked him what if i just get the cold air intake... he said anything that I add or change on my vehicle, even if i purchase the parts from ford it will void my part of my warranty...
They're full of it. They certainly can change the PCM...They do it on the GTs. I know because my sisters brother in law has a factory authorized tune that was done by the dealer. Plus they sell PCM upgrades for the GTs for install by the dealer. I have no idea why it would be different for the 6s
I know im pretty confused about the whole situation.... even in the brochure that i have it says "Ford Racing Offers street-legal performance packs for your mustang v6 that can be INSTALLED by your FORD DEALER".... and when i call the dealer people up... they say it can ONLY be installed by the factory because they cannot change the PCM.... i personally think that they dont know what there talking about.. because they themselves dont know either
Try talking to another dealer. In the mean time, when I call to make an appointment for my Van I will ask about this. I'm interested in the CAI & Tune myself.
i've actually called 3 different dealerships around my area...
dealer #1 didnt know what i was talking about..
dealer #2 said this can ONLY be done at the factory cuz they cant change the PCM

and with all dealers i talk to parts department.. they didnt know about it.. and i also talk to sales department.. and they barely found out about the v6 upgrade when they opened up a 2008 brochure.. as i told them I found it in the brochure.. so they opened one up i guess for the first time to see what i was talking about..
I've havn't heard alot about the 08 V6 power package, but what exactly all comes with the package? If ford or ford racing company comes out with it I don't see why a dealer couldn't install it either.
