well from what I'm told, a turbo is 100x better than a supercharger on our engines. The Supercharger uses a belt and anything at 5psi or lower is just using horsepower to spin the belt, putting out the same hp as stock. Once you hit 8 psi thats when you start putting big numbers down.
a turbo only uses exhaust fumes to fuel the turbo, so any amount of psi is putting out big numbers.
Turbo's not in price range, and I'd prefer the x-charger over it anyway, since if I make too much hp, any other car components(transmission, rear end, internals)may take a beating and need to be replaced or strengthened.
whether or not you see the power at the wheels, your engine is under the same amount of stress at any given psi. 9psi on vortech, procharger, xcharger, turbo is all the same amount of stress. boost is boost, period. its whats spent driving the power adder that robs the power from your wheels.
my car at 9psi making 371rwhp is under the same stress (at same rpm/psi levels) as a vortech making 9psi and 310rwhp.
turboj's turbokit is only 4200, barely more than what ur looking at spending. sure the xcharger makes a lot of torque early on, but so do turbos. i make 462rwtq with my turbo and the 100% stock engine.
it all depends on what you want. it seems lately you have been on a posting frenzy. new topics left and right started by you. if you aren't ready to spend the cash now, its best to not worry about what you are or arent going to do in the distant future.
Good Advice and insight! Wondering how many hrs does it take to install a turbocharger for a mechanic and/or regular person? And I wanna see that link too to turboj's turbo!

Im trying to decide between keeping the car na or going with a turbo or xcharger too. my car will never see a track and most likely will never be raced. Im just to old for that but i would like to increase the power output for daily driver.
Is it for sale on that site? If it is, I can't find it. And to help u out schapman, it's all about how much power u want. A regular x-charger will put u at300-310hp crank,a little faster and a little more powerful than a GT. The hi-po X will put u at around around 330-345hp crank, making u able to walk GT's. Add the pulley to either system and that adds around 20-25hp crank(dyno proven). And the turbo makes easily 380hp crank andup at reasonable amounts of boost. Regular x$<hi-po X$<Turbo. It's all about how much power u'll be happy with or how much money u want to spend. Turbo install will be hard for anyone who's not close to an amature mechanic so u'll have to add $750-$1.2k install charges for that and if u don't want to install the x-charger add $500-$700 install for that. I am leaning towards a Hi-po x w/bigger pulley b/c I'll be happy w/around 350hp crank. But if the Turbo is that cheap($4.2k), I will definitly think about it.

yep im in the same boat. turbo is 4.2k plus install that i wouldnt do or the xcharger that I could install. also, if the intercooleris producedfor the x that could add $1000-$1500 to the x price.
