ok guys i have a stock 2006 v6 mustang and i want a v8 in my car how mutch do you think everything would run for? Also i can get the engine and tranny for about 3500 from a gt take off but it dosent come with the computer... Any ideas?
I see your in Aurora. Do you have a auto or manual trans? I know atleast three different places in Michigan that have complete conversions right now including computer harness everything starting at $2550-$3500 and there is maybe twenty more through out the states. I'm going to Ypsilanti MI. this Thursday to pickup a complete 4.6 cast iron block new motor for $850.00 that I'm stroking etc. I'm also picking up a 8.8 takeoff rearend for $350.00 at the same place. If I wasn't building the motor I would be all over one of these conversions. There's alot of deals out there just gotta research it. You have any questions pm me..... Oh yeah hope I didn't hurt anybodys feelings again.

is that including the rear end and ds? if so that is a DAMN good deal. i still think though, if you are gonna do a swap, swap in something of a monster like you are doing, or just dont do it at all cause its not worth it. i personally like this guys idea-

oh yea.

Besides all the mechanicals ... wouldn't you need to change the instrument cluster as well? Here is the X-charger Dyno Chart:

Dang ... if I could have gotten every part necessary for a 4.6 swap with a low mile engine I would have done it for $3500 ...

i have a hard time beleiving that is everything needed though...you need alot of ****...i think you'd have to modify the k-member, along with the tranny, the engine, the 8.8", the ds, etc. i mean damn if all of that goes for 3500 i'd buy it and pice it out. You could get probably 3 grand for the motor alone, another 800 for the 8.8" and quite a bit for the transmission.

thats everything including driveshaft no rearend for a motor, trans.computer, harness etc out of a 07 vert gt with 5700 miles at cooks auto. there about 70 miles north of grand rapids. 1-800-535-5943 ask for mike. as for the k member no mods needed or the trans. the s197 platform is pretty basic and exchange friendly. casco out of ypsilanti is where i'm getting my stuff. shoot your right there.

If I was to swap a sixer engine, I would go for a carbureted427 Stroker out of a 351 block. 600hp,625tq N/A.
Anything less, I'll just turbo or Scharge the damn thing. JMO.

a gt 500 5.4 4v is a direct drop in. so is a 5.4 3v triton motor. i would have went with the 5.4 3v but couldn't find adapter plates to put the 4.6 intake manifold to the 5.4. i tried reichard, logan, sullivan, mmr etc. the're all for the 4v. it's doable all what an individual whats...

Tough call... I still think I would trade in the V6 and find a nice used GT. To each his own.

yeah but some people's cars hold some sentimental value. If it doesnt then trade up for a gt.

I like my hood and appreciate all the work i've done to my car, therefor im just going the same was as z06 and im gonna swap in the 4.6 when i find a deal

Wow this is pretty interesting, I didn't know this was possible.

So the entire package goes for around 2500-3500 k? Is that including the install, and every piece that you need ?

Do you know of any other places in or around Florida that offer this swap?

I would love to do this well down the line.
