X-charger. reliable and you can save cash by installing yourself. not only that, installing it yourself can be a very rewarding experience and you can also gain some good knowledge.

yep, +1 on what everyone said
the low end grunt you'll be looking for in an autocross type road is offered by the X-Charger

I'm in the same boat as you. Although i'm trying to decide between a turbo, Paxton Shelby unit or an X-Charger.

All kinds I didn't want to deal with. The biggest one was the stupid ball bearings went out and I had to go 3 weeks without a car so i had to send it back and wait for them to fix it and then send it to the performance shop and then wait for them to put it back in my car.

I mean yeah the power was ok but there is still the fact that there is lag and not only that it is taking power to make power. With the turbo you don't have to take power away to make it. Plus with a turbo you get a ton more torque.

Vortech you don't even hardly get to see full boost and turbo it builds faster than it takes the vortech to even reach 1 psi!!!

O and the vortech intercooler is a joke (way to small to really do much)

whoa whoa whoa now. i hope you dont think that the little "HEAT EXHANGER" isnt an intercooler! if its not big enough get the saleen one, its a direct bolt up. easy to do. vortech's after cooler(which sits in the engine bay) does exactly what its designed to do. yes its a little more maintnance because of the pumps and all that in the aftercooler and i too prefer a front mount air-air intercooler but the vortechs are great systems. dont let one bad apple spoil the bunch. ive had mine on for 13K now and havent had one problem with it. me and my buddie installed it ourselves in 7 hours and has been running like a champ. i also see full boost quite often. on the 3.6 pulley im making 7psi and i gained 106 at the wheels. thats on the standard output kit. my friend put down 309rwhp with the 10 psi/ cooled kit. thats on the stock tune which is super rich! i love my kit, if i can run 13.8s spinning in first im happy. thats on stock gears and all.

if you dont like the after cooled kit get a front mount. i bought a procharger front mount intercooler ( has a 2.5 inlet and outlet to match the 2.5 outlet on the v2 sq blower) and im making the piping right now. should help alot. pretty cheap to do aswell.

there is my rant lol

From searching on this topic (bored at work), I have heard that there were a bad batch of vortehc's that came out of the factory which were repaired free of cost under their warranty. That was probably the reason blackmamba had a problem with his, it was a bad one. And from reading up about vortech's intercooler and people's opinions and vortech's opinions on it, it is fine with the pulley that came with the kit and maybe even safe for a couple more psi. It does it's job, but like dwiseforme said, there are easy/cheap upgradable options in case you don't like it.

Just stating what I researched on the topic.
Is everything I read about and typed a fact? Anyone confirm this?
