On a flat road I'd guess you'd top out as stated in a few posts around 130-140. Now going downhill on the other hand haha...well lets just say I threw the car in neutral coming back from the Grand Canyon and was going 105...so that's on no cylinders haha. God only knows how fast otherwise...I got to say my mpg was a good 35-40 for that trip lmao. But do as I say not as I do when i say...kids don't try this at home!

For those that have an xcal 3 and want to remove the speed limiter:

1) With your tuner plugged in, go to "Program Vehicle" and then "Install Tune"
2) Pick the tune that you are currently running or are installing.
3) Then when it asks you "Adjust Options?" select "Change"
4) Select "Saved Options"
5) Scroll through the options until it says "Speed Limit," then turn it to "Off"
6) Save the options, then reinstall your tune.
7) Go fast! (But safely)

question i was gonna go xcharger but i think for a while ill just get a tuner. how fast can a good tuner/intake let me run. and im pretty sure once u hook the tuner up of anykind it takes the speed limiter off. i know it did on my old trucks i messed around with

not a chance in hell that a jetta gli will hit 175mph stock. heavily heavily heavily modified..... maybe

Just to call BS on your claim

And if you want more proof...read the last sentence of the 7th paragraph. 130 MPH.

http://www.supercarnews.net/2006-volkswagen-jetta-gli

And, just for good measure, this one says 127 MPH at the bottom of the page.

http://www.autofieldguide.com/driven/0106dri17.html

So either you didnt go 175 MPH in your moms gli or she bought it with crazy mods on it. Bigger turbo perhaps? Or maybe your exaggerting how fast you went...ALOT.
