i know it sounds crazy most people think of those little cars as mpg cars not top speed cars. but i guess with the turbo on them there just crazy fast. there not so fast take off. but top speed they got it. it took a pretty good stetch to hit too.

No see the problem is you never did hit that top speed. Not too many people realize how much power it takes to get over 150mph in a car that is not designed with that purpose in mind. Drag from the air is a strong force when you reach that speed. On top of that, the overdrive gear on cars makes it very hard to get that fast too.

yeah i didnt watch the you tubes because i live 3 miles out the city and they dont offer dsl here because i live in a boondocks city lol. but i just asked my dad and it aint stock i thought it was because it just has 17xxx miles on it so i figured it was stock it has upgraded clutch, short throw shifter, exhaust, manifold, intake, bigger intercooler, engine was took apart and redone it has pistons and all internals redone to run on nitrous but it prolly neevr will. but has the stock turbo. i drove it to lexington foranybody familiar with ky a week after they bought it and done that speed in it i looked at the gauge it was like 172. im not saying that isnt off. but i just think its real because the cobalt i was in didnt feel that fast.

yeah i mean it may not run that good. the mph could be off but it felt good to go that fast. damn i thought it was gonna crash on the stopping tho. but i know one thing on topend it will kill my mustang. but i dont believe i would trade a mustang for it even if it could truley run 180 because im a realwheel drive person

Same with me. The Jetta GLI's go to 180, I don't know why but they do.

yeah i watched some of those on youtube and it may be the extra parts on ours but those ones are weak only similarity is the gas when u floor it they has worse gas mileage than any other cars. but any ways maybe ill take it out one day get a youtube video of it or something. when it warms up to cold out now roads are froze.

no way NAAWWWWZZZZZ

1.) you didnt go anywhere near 170 mph, if the needle said it, its off by about 30 mph

2.) you are a ****ing moron to drive over ~100 mph on public roads.

My gps reads mph. I've hit 116 MPH but the the limiter hit in ( i have a v6). So if you have the limiter gone, you can see how fast you're going if you have a gps if its higher than what your speedo goes up to
