Are you cars lowered?
I heard that Ford used the two piece ds because of the pivot points.
The new ds maybe be lighter but do you really get the gain for the mone you spend?
The stock ds are rated upto 153MPH.

Where the hell did you read that? I heard they are rated somewhere between 110-120mph and people have blown their stock driveshafts going about that or higher on the dyno and other places. Maybe the Powerhouse/Shaftmasters or Steedas is rated at that, no probably not. Forgot fazm said he pushed his powerhouse ds to 160mph, maybe more on the dyno.

Not sure where that figure came from either. Maybe the new ones have that rating. The 05's with the problem driveshafts surely had a max of 110-120. I still have the stock driveshaft with my X and I would never even consider going 120, let alone 153 lol

Mine's lowered on H&R SS. Been checking for scraping on the driveshaft, but everything's been clearing fine.

I was talkikng to a guy that races.
I asked him about driveshafts.
He said the race with stock ds and they do 145 on straight aways without any issues.

I'm more than sure that stock shaft will hold at 125 WITH stock gears. Because there is no way that ford will put a shaft that will brake before the speed governor turn on.. cause if it brake while i'm doing 115, i'll sue there a$$es ( now thats with stock gears, if you put 3.73 or something else that another story)..

Read http://www.2005stang.com/viewtopic.php?t=2753

Speed limiter is 112mph I believe. Some people say they have seen above that with the limiter on, but they must be seeing things at a weird angle or something.

not sure how well that case would go for you. i don't think ford maintains responsibility for your safety at those speeds...

What's the advantages of an aluminum driveshaft? Haven't done much research on this yet.. better acceleration? and car feels "lighter?"

Less rotating mass for faster acceleration.
