Default Ambient Lighting

Hello to all members,
This is my first post and technically I am probably in the wrong forum but this question deals with both a 2000 and 2008 Mustang.

On our 2008 Mustang we have ambient lighting. It is a great feature. Our son would like to put it in his 2000 Mustang. I can purchase the parts from Ford but will it be hard to install in the 2000? I realize the switch location will have to be different as he has a different console.
Does anyone have any ideas on this install.

He and I would greatly appreciate any input....Thanks in advance....Jim

Hello Devil Wolf,
Thanks for your opinion. I am not too sure I understand the directions but I am going to study them. It would seem as though it can be done. Please post back if you go forward with the idea.
Good Luck with the car and keep helping others.......Jim

yeah, the directions could be a little clearer; i printed them out and went through them a couple times; it doesnt seem too bad. if anything i think the directions make it look harder than it actually is.

ill let you know if i go through with it anytime soon and how the install went.

It is more than just the console, there is wiring. Check out MR305's post above, look through the install link and you will see that there is more to it than just adding a new cupholder. Unfortunatly I think installing the kit is what you will need to do to get the lighting.
