I am not sure about the 2007, however I have an 05 and my e-brake froze to my caliper last winter. I had to wait until the next afternoon when it finally dethawed. I have not used my e-brake since and no problems. :-)

I hear ya, but I hate not using my e-brake. I was also told by a "brake specialist" that if you never use your e-brake that that is no good as well. Not sure how accurate that is but that's what I was told anyway....

This happend to me as well but it was above freezing when it happened. It got worse a couple of weeks later when th eweather got to the freezing mark and became undrivable. My mustang had about 62K miles at the time.

It ended up being the e-brake cables, but do to the mileage I changed the rear calipers as I noticed the e-brake lever was a little lazy as well. I notced that the rubber boots had deteriorated and allowed water to get in causing the left wheel to lock.

These 2005+ mustangs also seem to be snesitive to parking brake adjustment which in cold weather can cause it to freeze as well. I have an 05 GT with 15K miles that did the same thing in the cold until I adjusted the tension, since then no problems.

Next time you have the sluggish problem, drive it a mile then stop and go check your rear brakes to see if they are warm... if they are then your e-brake is probably dragging, if not then there is another good possibility.

You say it only does this on really cold mornings; chances are good what you're experiencing is just the effects of temperature on your tranny and rear end oil along with the grease in your bearings... once they warm up from a little driving they thin out and things loosen up again.

I don't think it's the tranny or rear end oil/grease. I think I have narrowed it down to the e-brake because it happened once during work when I used the e-brake and all I did was move the e-brake handle up and down quite a few times and it was fine after that. Of course the dealership said they can't do anything about it because they can't reproduce it. So since it's been hoovering in the single digit temps lately I've been not using the e-brake when I think about (force of habit otherwise) but I've been ok lately.
