What I want to know is when are they gonna go into production! I'm not selling my V6 anytime soon so I don't worry about resale value Also afixer, what's the difference between the air intake you have and the one that comes with X-Charger?

The reason only 100 units has been sold is the price is just too steep. Most other drivers have solid options available for $2500 and they sell VERY well.

I firmly believe if they dropped the prce to $2500, they would sell 5-10x the units.

The economy is going to really hit tuner items hard. Not a ton of folks lining up with $5000 of cash to throw into their car.
Show me a complete Eaton system for any car for $2500. Never mind, you can't.

The argument is that for other cars, mods and upgrades are so cheap, but for our cars, nearly double. When you consider a turbo system for a Honda and a turbo system for our car, same equipment, way different price. But off topic nonetheless.

Are you smug in the fact you are wrong?

Here is a complete Eaton based kit for $2500 shipped:

http://xcarbonfiber.chainreactionweb...oducts_id=2216

That took about 6 seconds to find...I am sure there are better bargains out there. They have turn-key kits for a dozen other vehicles for under $3k shipped.

Interesting since it is impossible...

Nice find. I did get a chuckle though from their gains with that system -

Fuel Management is provided by Jackson Racing's Powercard with digital tuning technology. This simple but effective plug-and-play system takes full control of the fuel injector only under boost. The gains in power are truly impressive. The 5-psi Street version, which carries CARB EO #D-344-10, showed a wheel horsepower increase of 42% to 178.6 and 149.3 lb-ft of torque compared to a baseline of 125.3 HP/115.9 lb-ft of torque.
Yes, I realize that it's a tiny motor, but those numbers are not impressive at all. You can put a GT take-off muffler on a 4.0L to get that rwhp, and let's not even discuss the torque number. I guess some folks are willing to spend just under $2,500 for those kinda numbers.

The increase is actually identical to the X. A 42% increase on the 4.0L will put you square at 270...which, if I am not mistanken, is exactly the claimed RWHP. 42% is 42%...it is a great increase.

So we are looking at a quality product, with the same percentile imcrease in power (give or take a couple HP) for about half the price.

I was challeneged to show that you cannot find a system for $3500 or even $3000...here is one with a tuner for $2500 at your door.

Sorry, but these guys are doing it and STILL turning a profit. They have excellent reviews and are well supported.

So either ours are made in such ridiculously small numbers they cannot get the per unit prices down...or we are getting royally shafted on price...or a combo of the two (probably the latter).

Not trying to rub this in...but it is obviosu that, produced in volume, we could be buying $2000-2500 quality supercharger kits for our cars.

So why dotn we? It is not like there is not a market...there are GOBS of 6ers. Heck, 70% of Mustangs are 6ers.

gotta make profit and if the quantities produced are not high (whether by choice or simply not capable), ur gonna get a higher than average price tag. also, its not wise to commit to a high production in the introductory stage since there is no guarantee that dave will even be able to sell all of them. people saying "I WANT ONE!" is not the same as people actually purchasing one. i'm sure he won't make more coolers than x-chargers actually sold...

there should be some piece of mind since there is a good rep on the quality and performance of the X. the cooler should expect to provide the same quality and performance assurance. supporting our aftermarket manufacturers who care about their customers is always a GOOD THING!

I also made this thread to tell Dave how many people were interested, and give him some peace of mind for investing in the production of the intercooler at a time of poor economy. There are people saying hell yes to this, who appear to not have an XCharger. Come on guys what's the deal?
