Really?!
This statement makes no sense...I have no idea what you are trying to say. You also are just speaking in ignorance as you have no idea as tot he quality of the units presented as a pricing example.

When you can't the penalty is you have to research how much the parts for those $2500 turn-key kits costs the final seller compared with what it costs Dave for the x-charger. Then, maybe, you'll have the beginning of an idea of how a) our modern economic system of supply and demand works and b) how running any business works.
I just found several for both Ford and DC vehicles...but proving naysayers wrong is senseless as many here cannot seem to grasp that the X-Charger is simply overpriced. it is a very simple concept to understand and it is very clear why they have sold less than 100 units.

If you want to make personal attacks...feel free. However, I am an MBA and thoroughly understand the complexities of bringing a product to market. I am sure that is meaningless to you, but I do not appreciate being lectured as a child.

I am sorry...I didn't see the private property sign where you evidently own the Internet. And just to be clear, discussing the price of a product is exactly on track and far from threadjacking. Based upon your statement of understanding the intimate details of supply and demand...I believe you may recognize that price is a major area of consideration and is well worth discussing. It is not rude, not disrespectful. The only one with an attitude here is you friend.

I should be around more. Fall was sorta tough with some family stuff, and work was taking up every minute of what was left.

Working on a new hood and rear fascia, so I'll want feedback.

That took about 6 seconds to find...I am sure there are better bargains out there. They have turn-key kits for a dozen other vehicles for under $3k shipped.

Interesting since it is impossible...
Don't like the price of an X-Charger? Don't buy one. Can't afford one? Sell the Stang and get one of those snazzy Civic hatchbacks. And you called my post smug?

But you cant possibly sit here and tell me that PART of the reason only 100 have sold is because of the price, you just cant.
How many Vortech units have been sold? How many Powerhouse turbos? They're all about the same price. As far as I've seen there are far more X-Chargers than any of the other systems. Why do you think that is? If you can't afford FI for your Stang maybe you should sell it and buy a ricer.

hey Paul nice to see you.

anyway if the supercharger is so over priced why has no one challenged Dave and made one?

you say 3 years and only 100 units i say 3 years and Dave is the king of superchargers for the 4.0!

like we say in the movie bussness. " if it was easy someone else would do it" so again i say if it is so easy where are they? who else makes a roots/twin screw for the 4.0 anyone?

Dave spent a year designing this kit to make it tits right on. hell after we installed mine it took him another 6 months before he released the first production units! he is spot on and a heck of a guy. he is selling theses units for cost plus . he gives deals to our service men and women and has had some of the most successful group buys i have ever seen.

say what you want but the kit is what it is. would i like to see the kit for less sure . but i am a realest and i know what Dave has into it. not to mention having to buy 10 mp90's at a time from magneson and 100 manifolds at a time and have you priced a 39 injector lately he supplies 6 of them 2 pulleys hoses and belt and a ton off aluminum brackets and such. not to mention the best instruction manual i have ever seen.

if you cant afford it fine but dont bag on the kit just because your to cheep

give Dave a call and explain economics to him he is a great listener. better ye start up your own company and put him out of business with your own 2500 sc for the 4.0. i don't see anybody else doing it. you should make a killing if it is so easy!

well put afixer. i was trying to get at that in my earlier post but you definitely put it in a clearer perspective. kinda bugs me when people seem to only be concernced with price these days rather than quality and great customer service. to me, the latter justifies a higher price. i've only come to understand this concept as i've gotten older (and wiser). i too b*tched about pricing over a lot of things way back when but now i see how some things are well worth paying the extra bucks for. i actually think its pretty neat how so few own an X. kind of an elite group which i hope to be a part of someday soon. there might be better performance options out there but the X was brought to stardom amongst modders here on the forums through positive results and satisfied customers. pretty cool IMO. i too thank the forums for making me aware of the X otherwise i would have been a lost sheep.

??? Is anybody listening to me? Somebody started talking about belt slippage and whatnot, I like talking about that, which is pertinent to the topic. Let's continue with that.

Ask and ye shall recieve nuclear....

I have a couple of questions for you (afixer) or whoever else might be able to chime in.

Is there more maintenence with an intercooled unit over the standard?

Would an intercooled unit be just as safe as a daily driver?

I have tossed up the idea of trading in for a GT, throwing in a 5.4 V8, or putting on an x-charger, and I just cannot for the life of me trade in my stang, I get too many compliments, and I love it too much to do that. And there is just something exciting about having a v6 with a supercharger that can throw down with the v8's

Also, do they have a rough price for the X-E?

yea sanco its kinda funny actually heck why don't Dave just give them away! i remember the adapter i helped Dave with from the throttle body to the rear inlet adapter. when we put my kit in the hood rubbed a pit due o the 05 throddle body havin the cooling on it. so made a few models and sent them to me . remember i live 400 miles from him. and we finally settled on one that slightly turned the body then lowered the adapter to clear the fuel rail and skewed to clear the hood. i remember calling mag and roush and wipple and others and the comments " were no building one because nobody is going to mod the 6!" boy did we prove them wrong . so Dave answered the call and he get chastised for it. nice real nice guys. go build your own i say or shut up or call Dave and show him how its done!

don't worry Cam we here you!

belt slippage could be a couple things. i have both pulleys but only use the 3.0 pulley because for the city driving i do the tune i have and other mods i honestly don't notice enough difference to put the car under the added strain of the 2.8 pulley . with the smaller pulley you have a beer chance of slipping also i have 2 belts one for the 3.0 and one 2.8 that is a tad bit smaller.

Others have also gone o the aluminum idler pulleys that are out there. they are a bit larger and cradle the nose pulley more. you have to be careful because they could rub on the alternator cover so you would have to trim it again a bit. all this slippage is for the track junkie or Ricky racer on the street.

with over 3 years and 40 k miles i have never noticed my belt slip.
