Default 2007 Mustang stripes

2 weeks ago my parents bought me my first car, a 2007 mustang. The car is exactly what I wanted, except for one thing, it doesn't have the double black stripe. Since its my first car, I dont know much about cars. So thats why I'm here.

I've looked into it, but am unsure how I want it done. I know theres 2 options. I can either get Vinyl stripes (Less expensive) or have them painted on. Is it worth the extra money to get them painted on?

If I get vinyl stripes I will most likely get these in black:

in the long run yes, it is worth getting them painted, just a few days ago someone posted about how theyre vinyls are fading. The ones you found^ are 10 inch stripes you may want to look into 12 inch stripes for a bolder look. The place that has the most selection is baltimore street mod, they seem to be the most popular http://www.baltimorestreetmods.com/

by the way where are you in maryland?

Does BSM also paint stripes on mustangs? If not, do you know anywhere in maryland that does a good job at it? I'm going to go with painting the stripes on most likely

I live in Carroll County, about an hour from Baltimore.

Nice I'm in Catonsville, I don't think bsm does paint but there's a place in glen burnie that does just about everything well.. HP Racing http://www.hprcustoms.com/ sometime this summer I'll get my duals done there and i've heard they do well on paint too but keep in mind paint is going to be about 30 times as much as vinyls!

I live in Carroll County, about an hour from Baltimore.

Having them painted on is the best way to go. With vinyls, they can fade, they can get stained from leaves, etc. So while the price is much cheaper, they can be more of a pain the butt.

I have priced painted stripes in my area and here is how it breaks down. You are charged per panel (Your hood is considered 1 panel, your roof 1 panel, your front bumper 1 panel, your back bumper 1 panel) and also per stripe.

So if you do a single stripe across all 4 panels, it will be 1/2 the cost when compared to doing a double stripe down all 4 panels.

In Washington, the double stripes I want down all 4 panels are $900'ish. If I went with a single stripe down all 4 it would be $450'ish.

Then you get into which panels you want striped. Some guys only do it on their hood, roof, and back bumper, and avoid the front end bumper. So if you do a single stripe on 3 panels, it'll be cheaper than doing a single stripe on 4 panels.

So your best route is to put some phone calls in, get some pricing, go into a shop or two and talk to the guys, and then narrow your choices. With today's economy, you can get a lot of the shops to compete with each others quotes.

Let us know how it turns out, and you're one lucky guy to have your parents buy you such a nice stang! I'm 29 now and had wanted one since I was 18. Had to save and save over the years, but they are AWESOME cars. Live it up and enjoy the attention from the ladies
